POP! Portraits

Sixth graders discussed Pop Art and the meaning of Popular Culture. We looked at Andy Warhol, probably the most famous Pop Artist. After looking at some examples of his art we began the make our own version of his silk screen images of repeating faces. The students first learned the proportions of drawing a face. What you see in this post are the students working on their portrait using a small square of paper. When they return to class next week I will have made several copies of their portrait which they will paint.
